Had and excellent dinner here this evening. Everyone was very happy with their meal. It was our first time to eat here and definitely not the last. Nice to have an Italian restaurant right on the trail in AJ. Their food portions are huge. You will be taking some leftovers home. Then for dessert we had the chocolate mousse cake (the best ever) and the strawberry swirl cheesecake. Amazing!!!!

Once upon a time, we sat in Scuttlebutt's for dinner. It was not memorable, with the exception of the owner giving us a loaf of homemade bread at the end of the night. Fast forward 10 or so years. Nearly forgotten, we decided to order to go, and try our luck. Ordering over the phone was atrocious. I felt like either someone had something going on in the background, or he was just disinterested. I get there to pick up my meal. One half-drunk old dude in the restaurant. No one else. My order is not ready, so I wait, striking up casual conversation with the staff and the stool pigeon. My order is ready. Only, it's not. I'm missing items. They now must be cooked. I wait some more. I finally get home with dinner. Every. Frickin. Thing. Was. Burnt. No joke! Clamdigger sandwiches, burnt clamstrips and nothing else in a roll. Calamari, burnt. Mozzarella sticks, burnt. So disappointed. We will not return.

We went there today for the all you eat cod for $9.95 it came with fries and cole slaw. I really liked the cole slaw good flaver. The fish had a great flavor but too bad the coating was quite greasy. Was ok if you blotted it lots of napkins. The portions were nice size and even better since it was all you can eat. Will probably try it again.

At first when you walk into the front door (once you find it), you see the space is small and obviously a house converted to a quaint restaurant. One of those places that it's a hit or a big miss - we were pleasantly surprised!! The service was prompt, friendly, and not pushy. The food was delicious. We had Caesar and house spring green salads, both were fresh & crisp. The meal was served with warm homemade Italian bread. We had wings, and two types of ravioli: lobster & portobello. Everything was wonderful! I'd recommend trying this place out for yourself!!

The "Moby Dick" fish sandwich was a joke. I guess they get their "filet of pollock" from the same place as McDonalds. It seemed to irritate the manager when we had to look for them to get our check.

We went for dinner July 16th for birthday dinner. There was 4 of us we arrived at about 7:40 sat down And were promptly waited on Beer and wine only at this place but a good selection. The food when delivered was amazing! The best Italian I have had since moving from NY We didn't realize that they closed at 8:00pm they never rushed us or made us feel unwelcome Great place that we will be back to for sure!

We ordered the fish and chips and the chicken fritters to go. Took an hour to get our food after they said it would be ready in 30 min. The food was terrible! We couldn't even eat it. Undercooked and overpriced. We won't be going back.

"Worst service ever. Not sure if waitress hates Asians or if Nam said something to piss her off... but never going back to Scuttlebutts." So mad at this place won't even try to be original or funny and just copy paste my wife's tweet. I've bookmarked this place to try for years and should've seen the rating drop as a sign to go somewhere else. First impressions were good- converted house restaurant, tasty sounding items on menu. 2nd impression was not so good as I peeked under the table and saw a pizza spatula near the base of the table in the booth. No matter; they had 2 servers on a busy Friday night. Understood being told to sit anywhere by a friendly lady ( God I wish she had been our server ) and waiting awhile. Didn't understand immediate attitude of new server Sandy/Sharon/something. Walks up, then walks away a bit to yawn for a good 5 seconds. Okay, fine. Tell her what we want to drink, order some apps, but we want to hold on to the menu if we will order later. Sullenly walks away. Returns with drinks promptly. Appetizers arrive not so promptly. Clam chowder was full bodied, creamy chowder stocked with tons of seafood but surprisingly little flavor. Conversely the lobster/crab chowder had almost no seafood, but flavor of the broth was rich. If they'dve dumped the contents of the clam chowder in the lobster chowder that would've been an awesome soup. Fried green bean fries were delicious. Mini raviolis were extremely tough on the outside, and seemed of the frozen + over nuked variety. Remember how I said I wanted to hold on to the menu in case I wanted something later? I had overheard our waitress tell every other customer about their all you can eat fish + chips special and was tempted. Alas our server came by and dropped off the check and scurried away quickly. Thwarted. Maybe they made a great tiramisu. I ask our server and she informs me its pre-made and shipped in. Well then. I've never regretted leaving a tip so much in my life.

Their pizzas are good! MUCH better than the crap you get at Little Ceasers/Pizza hut/Dominos/etc. . .

Great Italian and seafood. Cozy inside, they are always busy when they're open because the food is great. Attentive servers, clean dining room and good size portions. We had an excellent meal and were glad we finally stopped and tried the food- now I wish we had done it sooner!

Very friendly service, pretty good food and reasonable prices. This place looks odd on the outside, but much nicer inside. Fresh baked bread and nice dessert selections. Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

Friendly mom and pop place with delicious food! If I wasn't so broke all the time I would eat here more 1000 times better then cobbs down the street!

Would have gone back to try more of their food, but did not feel welcomed AT ALL by the waitress. Hubby's (Nam's) review pretty much says it all. Except I didn't think our appetizers really took THAT long to come out. Shame that our experience was like that, but Handlebar's is just down the road and our experience there was light years better.

Love this place-we go EVERY Wednesday for the Spaghetti Special. The sauce is the greatest! The pizza is good too-that is our Sat night choice, and in between my favorite is the Life Raft. All the personnel are great, and Donna is special!

Good food, good service. Little pricey. Good place to go. The outside of the small building was a little run down. But don't let that discourage you. I would love to go there again some day!!!

My dad took me here the other day and when we pulled up I was like wtf? The building doesn't look appealing at all so I was thinking that the food will not be good at all. To my amazement I was wrong. We had the calamari appetizer and the all you can eat fish and chips. The calamari was actually pretty damn good, and the fish was also pretty damn good. I'm not a cole slaw fan, but there's was awesome! There was a special of haddock parmesan. One I have never even heard of that and two, that doesn't even sound appetizing in the least bit. I didn't try it so I can't review that. I'm actually intrigued to go back and try the other dishes that they offer. I mean you don't think of Apache Junction of a dining destination, but this place was pretty damn good!

We really enjoy Scuttlebutt's and they make great Italian dishes and great pizza. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was hot and delicious. I would really recommend them. Don't be deceived by the building. It 's great food.

Despite the awkward name, mixup decor and split seafood/pizza menu ("pizzafish") it was a pleasent experience. Had the all the can eat fish fry, all throught the server was hesitant to refill our fish at each request it was tastey. The restaurant could have been cleaner and I could see how people would be hesitant to eat here- but I'm not too picky.

I'm not sure why this is only under "Pizza" clasification. They have great Italian food, great fish, great pizza. The menu is LOADED with too many choices and every thing is great. I am partial to "hole in the wall.. mom and pop" kinds of places and this place is the best of many worlds! Oh!!! and can't forget to mention this nice young gal who works there 6 days a week. I don't know her name.. but probably of of the BEST waitresses, and people-persons that there is !!! don't forget to pick up a loaf or two of the wonderfully delicious, daily baked Italian bread which is only $2 a loaf!!! I could live on that stuff! Many wonderful different raviolis.. The lobster/asparagus is great.. and also the portabella one as well!!! Many good choices! If you're even slightly close to the Apache Junction area... be sure to stop here for an amazing great meal... and wonderful little place with wonderful people!

Ordered cheeseburger pizza and a supreme. 14" first one cost $15 the other $20. THe cheeseburger was rectangle shaped and toppings were dry and scarce. The supreme type had canned ingredients! and was odd/sour smelling. So bad I couldn't eat it. We will never get pizza from there again. It deserves a WARNING rating. Clerk asked us if we would like some parmesan cheese, and handed me ONE thimble-sized portion. This was on a Sunday and the place was deserted.

Great high quality food. Male owner recently passed. Hope the wife doesn't compromise the quality in the interest of profits.

First time visit to restaurant last night. Outside looks typical Apache Junction. Food totally not Apache Junction! Food excellent! Lived here 10 years & never had the courage to enter the place until friends suggested meeting there. Shame on me! Looks are deceiving! I will definitely return. We ordered haddock & cod special, not greasy, large portions (cod special all you could eat), great tiramisu, great prices. Best kept secret in A J!

Definitely a fan! Great pizza and Italian meals. Large portions and great friendly service, Lobster ravioli is delicious and the fish and chips were good too! Nice place to relax, have a drink and good meal for lunch or dinner, haven't tried the froglegs yet but the kids will talk me into it soon!

Don't let the exterior of this place fool you, it's a clean, comfortable, albeit small restaurant. This place serves a lot of Italian food and seafood plus all the familiar appetizers and desserts. It also serves beer and wine and has a tiny little 4 stool bar...probably more like a breakfast bar. There's a little more than a dozen tables with 4 seats per table plus a patio with a few tables. My girlfriend and I were in here on a Friday afternoon and we were the only people inside. There was one waitress who was friendly and professional. We ordered a sausage and peppers sandwich and a chicken parm sandwich and tried the fried green beans. Everything was great. The sandwiches were very hot and fresh. The green beans were yummy and came with ranch. Just and FYI, the sandwiches don't come with anything on the side. Each sandwich was $8 and the green beans were $7. We ended up paying $30 for the two subs, appetizer, and two drinks and tip. A little pricey in my opinion, but the portions were large. Parking here is pretty tight and some might call it downright dangerous since the spaces are so close to Apache Trail. If Scuttlebutts is busy there's no way the parking lot will accommodate everyone. Other than that I was very impressed; I drive by here almost everyday and feel bad I haven't come in here sooner. We'll definitely be back.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
